General information
We often get enquiries from people looking to work with us. This page will give you basic background information if you’re one of these people.
Our employment opportunities can be divided into two categories:
- Freelance contributors
- Staff
Freelance contributors
Many of our photographs and articles in our magazines: Bicycling Australia, Mountain Biking Australia, Bicycling Trade, Bicycling Buyers Guide and Bicycling Australia Show Guide, come from freelance contributors.
If you’d like to contribute an article or photographs, contact the respective editor of each publication. Our Editors choose which freelance contributors they will use.
For Bicycling Australia, Bicycling Trade and Bicycling Australia Show Guide, contact Nick Raman nick@bicyclingaustralia.com
For Mountain Biking Australia and Bicycling Buyers Guide, contact John Hardwick john@bicyclingaustralia.com
Often it’s a good idea to submit an example of previously published work, if you have any. Otherwise, you may have an unpublished example that you can submit.
We pay according to a schedule based upon the number of words actually published, and the number and size of photographs published. Please note that we will also be putting the magazines on line in the future and the one payment is to cover both print and electronic publication.
We will also be looking for freelance contributors and authors for our new BA Press book publishing division. Our first book, currently in planning, is Where to Ride in South East Queensland. For more details contact Ian Melvin ian@bicyclingaustralia.com
